Adam n Eve (and me!)

Okay, so you’ve probably already seen a million posts about Hair Fair 2009’s opening weekend, and I’m only sort of adding to the pile. Instead of showing you a million-billion different hairs I picked up, I’m only showcasing one at the moment This week’s big winner? Adam n Eve.

Admittedly, I’ve never been the biggest fan of Adam n Eve’s hairs or wears, but I am now a believer. Sachi Vixen has really outdone herself with the hair she released at Hair Fair 2009, and there’s even more gorgeous new hair in the store! Of course, I’m not one to bog down a blog post with a ton of pics, so I just picked one brilliant hair to show: Darci, a lovely up-do with 50% of the proceeds going to the Locks of Love charity.

Post-20090621

Isn’t that hair just absolutely stunning? It’s just classic and so multi-purpose. Ooh, and see that hot little black dress I’m wearing? Also by Adam n Eve and new in the store as well!

There are a lot of places you can go to get a ton of different great stuff, but if you’ve not gone to Adam n Eve, you’re seriously missing out. And don’t forget to hit the booth at Hair Fair for the Darci hair! You definitely won’t regret having that in your arsenal.

…And that’s all I’ve got for now. Laters!

Mind your temper…ance

I’m a complete sucker for gothic Victorian clothes, and since I like to flirt with the androgyny line a bit, I tend to go for the suits as opposed to the floofy dresses. That is where The Black Canary comes in. Not only are the clothes just flat-out beautifully made, but they’re gothic Victorian and built for androgyny. Take, for example, their newest release, Temperance…

See that entire outfit? That’s all Temperance (except the stockings). You even get the adorable mini tophat! Fabulous!

What really sold me on this outfit, however, was all the details. The tiny chain holding the vest together. The little cross cufflinks. The tabs at the cuffs of the pants. The bows, the frills, the overall craftsmanship. A lot of love and hard work went into making this outfit, and you can really tell when you put it on. It’s just so outstanding that I had to pair it up with one of my favorite new up-do’s and skins. I can’t wait for the next release!

…And that’s all I’ve got for now. Laters!

You’re Turning Violet, Violet!

Hellos and welcome to Counter Couture! This is my first post on my own, and you’re getting in on the ground level. Don’t you feel special? 😄

I wasn’t really sure what to blog first–I have so much stuff!–but my bestie and fellow blogger Ash told me, “Just pick whatever you’ve been the most excited about lately.” So you’re getting a look I’m totally in love with…

20090606

Starting at the top, I picked up this hair from Uncleweb Studios. I wear my hair short–boy short in terms of SL–so I’ve been all over the grid hunting down male hair until I finally found Uncleweb, which somehow managed to elude me before now. Of course, when I saw all of the amazing hair there, I very nearly bought out the store!

Next, the mini-dress/shirt is from a fantastic little shop called Amaris. I stumbled across it when I was looking for a cheongsam-style dress; I was so stoked to find such a great shop! It’s quaint, and the clothes there are just lovely and easy on the pocketbook. You would be crazy not to at least give it a quick look. Although the dress does come with a pair of purple capri pants, I paired it up with a wild pair of purple jeans with a funky heart design from A:S:S. The jeans are more my style, and I just really love A:S:S.: it’s fun, edgy, and just plain awesome.

And the main attraction… The Boots. I have been looking for boots like this practically since I joined SL, which was nearly two years ago., and lo, I finally found them. These are Kboots that I initially saw on Xstreet. However, I tried on the demos then found out there was one place in-world that carried them, so off I went to get them at Treads.

These boots are perfection. You will not find a better pair of boots like this in SL. You just won’t. Buy them.

…And that’s all I’ve got for now. Laters!
